Mom of beauty baby born with rare birthmark on a mission to build her confidence

14 month old Winry was born with a rare birthmark that covers a quarter of her face.

She was born with rare congenital melanocytic nevi, or CMN, a condition seen in approximately 1 in 50,000 births.

Winry’s mother, Nicole Lucas Hall, has taken to social media to share her beauty in the hopes of normalising birthmarks and other abnormalities.

Her mission is to always make Winry feel beautiful so that as she grows, she will always feel joyful and confident.

Nicole, mother to Winry and four year old son Asher, reveals that the moment they first saw Winry they were confused and concerned for their newborn.

“When they first handed her to me, I thought it was a bruise,” she told “Good Morning America.” However, doctors assured them that the condition was mostly aesthetic.

Winry is at a slightly increased chance of developing melanoma, but Nicole says she keeps on top of it with skin care. “Her health and happiness are our top priority.

We have to monitor her with sunscreen. I’m careful with hats and that sort of thing,” Hall said. “I know our regular dermatology appointment is probably going to be our best friend growing up.”

Her mother is more worried about Winry being bullied as she gets older than she is the minor health risks, and that’s why she decided to start using TikTok and Instagram to educate people about their daughter’s condition, posting cute snaps of Winry and Asher along with information and resources.
