Touching photo of man cradling sick dog to sleep goes viral: the most tender moment that will melt your heart

A photo taken of a Wisconsin guy soothing his ailing canine to sleep in Lake Superior may meet that quota for a long time, just in case you needed another illustration of the amazing link between human and doggie.

Hannah Stonehouse Houdson shot this image of her friend John Unger on the Great Lake, cuddling his 19-year-old dog, Schoep.

Schoep has arthritis, and his severe stage of the disease has made it difficult for him to get any relaxation.

Unger began to take his closest friend out into the warm water to help him relax and relieve his agony. Schoep can get some much-needed rest thanks to the gently rocking action, which functions as a form of treatment.

Hudson told Pioneer Press that she is “overwhelmed,” but not surprised, by the outpouring of support.

“People have claimed they see every single thing in this shot, from pure love to the belief for the future. They perceive serenity, kindness, and the man-dog interaction “she stated.

“I want everyone to recognize themselves in this photo and recall a time when they felt safe, loved, and cared for,” Hudson continued.

Schoep was rescued by Unger and his fiancée when he was an eight-month-old puppy.

Schoep had been neglected by his previous male owner, and it took nearly a year for the doggo to trust Unger, as per to the Duluth News Tribune.
