Smile On Nashville (Tennessee, USA) cosmetic dentistry practice has hired the cutest dental assistant ever. Peewee, a French Bulldog, accompanies his owner to help patients relax during their appointment.
It is well known, visits to the dentist are far from being a piece of cake! At Smile On Nashville, Jeff Trembley now has a very special staff member. This is his French Bulldog, 2 years old.
A while ago, a patient was having difficulty relaxing during her appointment. The doctor of dental surgery then offered him some company.
“We gave her Peewee, she was able to relax. She let us treat her, and it was thanks to Peewee, ”he told Daily Paws.
The dog acts as an anti-stress
The healthcare worker started bringing his 4-legged companion to the office when he was 6 months old, rather than leaving him home alone all day. However, the puppy was crying in his owner’s office: he clearly wanted to be among the staff and the patients.
Jeff Trembley set up a cozy little nest for him behind the reception desk, where he could watch everyone’s comings and goings. But the dentist quickly realized that his furry friend could be of great help to patients.
“They were seeing Peewee and started asking if he could sit with them,” the owner explained. For many people, going to the dentist can be a source of anxiety.
While some use a multitude of distraction and calming techniques, ranging from music to decoration, others, like Jeff Trembley, involve their pets.
