This female dog and this mare with matching coats see each other as sisters

Eli and Rumba are the best friends in the world. Besides sharing a special bond, the female dog and the mare proudly wear the same colors on their backs. And the inseparable duo love to live adventures in the heart of the Alps.

With their piebald dress, adorned with brown and white spots, there is a little family resemblance. And yet Elizabeth de Val, more colloquially known as Eli, and Rumba are not of the same species. The first is a mare, the second a female dog.

Although they do not share blood ties, and despite the difference in size, Eli and Rumba cannot do without each other.

“When I had Rumba, I didn’t really know what she was doing. looked like because we had booked her before she was born. It was a total surprise to find out that she was the same color as Eli, ”Océane Delobe, 31, told Metro.

The female Australian Shepherd / Border Collie cross joined the family in 2020. Their owner initially worried the pair might not get along, but her concerns quickly dissipated.

The 30-something adopted the dog after losing one of her horses.

A tragic event, which pushed her to go in search of a new companion. “I needed to bring a little more happiness into my life,” said the independent real estate agent. “I had wanted a dog for a long time, I knew it was the right time to have one. ”

Rumba has perfectly integrated the family cocoon, located in Annecy. Today she has become Paint Horse’s best friend. The pair love exploring the Alpine peaks more than anything.

“Eli loves following Rumba when we go on a hike, and if she can’t find her, she’ll look for her quickly,” Océane explained.

“She considers Rumba part of the family. Even if the mare and the female dog are different animals, they are nonetheless sisters at heart. And this, forever.
