When a mouse comes into their home without their consent, some owners hope their cat will chase it away. It’s not always the case ! In the city of Punta Arenas, Chile, a man discovered the surprising relationship between his feline and a rodent.
A few weeks ago, Benjamín Sagredo started hearing strange noises in his kitchen. The sounds, rather weak, only occurred occasionally.
“We didn’t know what it was,” he told Dodo. “We had seen Simon play with something under a chair before, but we didn’t think much about it. ”
Simon, the family cat, knew exactly who the intruder was. Instead of getting rid of him, he befriended him!
One morning, as Benjamín Sagredo was about to enter the kitchen, he witnessed a surprising scene. Simon was quietly drinking water … with a mouse! The 2 animals shared the same bowl. The big-hearted cat obviously took a liking to the little rodent.
“They seemed to know each other well. Simon was affectionate, ”said the Chilean. “I decided to film. I thought no one would believe me. ”
Although the man was stunned by this atypical relationship, he quickly adopted the point of view of his four-legged companion. Simon was so friendly to his guest that he became attached to the creature himself.
“I couldn’t hurt him,” said the protagonist. “I named her Chefcito. Simon’s kindness was contagious!
The owner of the black-robed cat has moved Chefcito outside, in case she prefers to go live in the wilderness. But obviously the mouse felt all too good in the house, in the company of its feline best friend.
