This man saved the life of the hippopotamus: the unique friendship of them

This female hippopotamus named Jessica is considered to be the most famous in the world.

It has been the subject of around 150 documentaries and is widely covered in the media, so hundreds of people travel to see it every year.

But let’s learn more about this amazing animal. Its story began 18 years ago, in South Africa.

The family patriarch discovered a hippopotamus by a river not far from his residence.

The man made the choice to bring the animal home. The animal was raised by the entire Joubert family.

Jessica briefly resided at her rescuers’ home, but eventually, the animal grew.

The Joubert made the decision to throw Jessica into the same river where they had originally discovered her.

Jessica, however, has become so devoted to her family that she visits them daily. This tale has gained a lot of popularity.

Jessica still enjoys drinking tea and watching TV. The hippopotamus is not afraid of people and gladly accepts treats and gentle patting on the head.

Visits have been allowed for tourists only, allowing them to meet Jessica, get to know her, and learn more about the patriarch of the Joubert family, who is happy to present his unique experience.
