The adorable dog follows ultrarunner throughout race and finds herself a forever home

This story has filled my heart with joy!
Dogs are regarded for being excellent companions, regardless of breed. They’re intelligent, trainable, extremely loyal, and have incredible rescue and survival instincts. That is why they make excellent pets.

Working dogs, too, have a way of charming and competently disarming their handlers. Have you ever seen how officers and other security personnel fall in love with their canine friends and form unbreakable relationships with them?

Therapy dogs are in the same boat. They’re delicious, efficient, and make the lives of those who rely on them so much easier.

That’s why dog owners are so enthusiastic.

Making dogs a part of the family is difficult, but the benefits are priceless. Dogs have a natural desire for affection, especially when properly trained. These endearing dogs have a tendency of lavishing love, care, and protection on their human siblings and pet parents.

Like Gobi and how much she influenced Dion’s life.

Dion Leonard is a seasoned ultramarathon runner who encountered the adorable dog while competing in a race through China’s Gobi Desert.

Dion was surprised when the dog, which he later called after the desert, began running beside him.

Despite her size, Gobi kept up with the runner, running through sand dunes, over the Tian Shan Mountains, through communities, and into black sands.

Gobi could have gone off on her own after jogging a few miles with Dion, but the dog kept up and stayed with him, much to his surprise and happiness.

“It was just a personal decision she wanted to make, and she wanted to be near me.”

Gobi yearned to be with Dion so badly that she would accompany him into his tent at night. Dion made the decision to look after her right then and there.

He’d give her food and drink from his stockpile. Carry her through rivers and simply make the dog feel loved and cared for, even if it meant jeopardising his race position.
