Adorable moment thirsty squirrel asks tourist for water at the Grand Canyon

When Paul Camps of Gloucester, England, decided to visit the magnificent Grand Canyon in Arizona, he had no idea he’d be in for such a treat. And it wasn’t so much the spectacular environment that touched his heart, but rather a small squirrel in need of assistance.

With maximum temperatures above 89 degrees Fahrenheit at that time of year, locating water sources is a major difficulty for all of the wild creatures who dwell there.

A thirsty squirrel, on the other hand, discovered an unusual way to quench its thirst.

The adorable, tiny creature insisted on approaching Paul and asking for some water. Paul told Storyful, “The squirrel proceeded to follow me and held its arms up to me as if it wanted to be picked up.”

The man quickly noticed the little animal was in serious need of water and dived in to assist it. “I gave my girlfriend my water bottle so I could shoot a photo of my phone,” the man explained.

“As I was doing so, the squirrel raised its arms towards my partner.”

Paul did not just photograph the adorable baby squirrel; he also captured the entire scenario on video, and the outcome is touching. It’s really cute to see the thirsty creature grasping the bottle with its little paws.

Thankfully, the man’s compassionate deed may have saved the unfortunate little creature’s life, since the squirrels may have died if they hadn’t found a source of water in earlier.

Even though squirrels are charming creations, they are still wild animals that can cause harm or carry illness. Knowing this, Paul stated that he did not drink from the same bottle again.

“Nonetheless, we didn’t share a bottle,” he explained.
