For a year, this 12-year-old boy has been mobilizing to help a shelter by camping in his garden

From the height of her 12 years, Ashley Owens is already a figure of heroism. For the past year, he has been sleeping every night in a tent to raise funds for stray dogs.

A small gesture that he makes on his own scale, but which makes the difference.

Ashley Owens is a good-hearted boy. On March 28, 2021, the young Englishman from Hertfordshire decided to pitch a tent in his parents’ garden and spend the night there to support the residents of the Paws2Rescue association.

The organization’s volunteers come to the aid of animals living in desperate living conditions in Romania, reveals an article published in the columns of Daily Express on April 4, 2022.

But the 12-year-old child, imbued with a motivation that commands admiration, was not satisfied with just one night.

“He kept going on and on,” his mom Emma Owens said proudly, saying, “I want to raise money for the dogs.” 365 nights later, Ashley continues to sleep in her “small room” arranged outside.

So far, this football enthusiast has managed to raise £7,000 (around €8,400). Ambitious, he hopes to reach the pharaonic sum of £30,000 (€36,000), which he will donate to Paws2Rescue in its entirety.

Despite the winter and its icy breath, the boy never gave up. Even the sweltering summer temperatures did not deter him from continuing.

According to him, when he is about to give up, he thinks of all the stray dogs suffering in the streets and takes courage.
