Corgi mamma abandoned for being a ‘bad mother’ adopts rescued pit bull puppies

Sara was rescued from a dog farm and No Dog Left Behind Minnesota took her in after giving birth to countless litters.

When she arrived at the shelter she was pregnant and in fact the same breeders had abandoned her for being a “bad mother”, but as soon as her puppies were born, her rescuers confirmed that it was a big lie.

“She’s been an incredible mother from the beginning. She always loves and watches her puppies. She allows and even places her puppies in the hands of their adoptive family and checks on them all the time.”

Recently, the shelter found a litter of puppies abandoned under a building. They took them in to give them the best possible care.

They began to bottle-feed them, but the puppies were too small and fragile. Their rescuers were worried that they would need more specialized care, and that’s when they thought of Sara.

“The rescue director had the experience and knowledge to try to mix the two litters. Because of Sara’s maternal instinct, the director felt it would be an incredible option,” Easley said.

To give the four young puppies the best possible experience, the rescuers decided to give them to Sara in the hope that she would take care of them as well as her own babies.

They weren’t sure it was the best idea, but as soon as Sara met the new puppies, the love blossomed: she knew exactly what to do.

Since that first meeting, Sara has been caring, cleaning and looking after the puppies just as she does her own. She adopted the little ones as part of her family and now they are all her children, regardless of whether she gave birth to them or not.

Even though her puppies – which she gave birth to – are older and bigger than the new ones, they have completely accepted their new siblings, and it’s as if they have been a family all along.

Unfortunately, one of the four puppies was too weak to make it, but the other three are thriving and growing every day, thanks to Sara.

While no one is sure what breed they are, there is speculation that they might be pit bull puppies, but only time will tell as they continue to grow.

Thanks to Sara’s love and maternal instincts, the puppies are no longer orphans, but instead have a large, loving family that will help them grow and learn until the time comes to leave and find the best homes forever.
