Animal lover builds a mansion for the dogs she rescues and cares for in her home

Some people with a big heart, like Susie Elliot, are willing to spend time and money helping animals in need. The resident of Wharton (Texas, United States), erected a small mansion to accommodate dogs in the best conditions.

While an Australian couple transformed their property into a sanctuary where senior dogs live their last days in peace, Susie Elliott has built a “stray dog mansion” in her own home. The 63-year-old American , rescues and welcomes dogs into her home while she finds them a new loving home forever.

In order for their stay to go as well as possible and for them to take advantage of their own space to relax, she took $ 400 (or just under € 350) out of her pocket. After 3 months of work, the Hound Dog Hotel has opened its doors to 16 animals, Mirror reports.

The generous lady took charge of the design of the building. Her husband, David, tackled manual labor. The Hound Dog Hotel turns out to be a real palace for their little ones.

In addition to the 2 floors, lamps, stained glass, a balcony and a ramp to help the elderly to enter, the builders took care to decorate the walls and place cozy cushions.

The colored windows alone cost $ 100 (around € 86) and the floor $ 50 (around € 43). The rest of the budget was spent on lighting, decorations and furniture.

The four-legged residents benefit from a comfortable house, where they can feel completely at ease. After going through difficult trials during their life, they taste a well-deserved happiness. Their benefactors pamper them on a daily basis.
