A special black white bond: An orphaned lamb with spots gets adopted by a Dalmatian

At a farm in South Australia’s Barossa Valley, a Dalmatian dog stepped in to soothe a newborn lamb who had been abandoned by her own mother in a wonderful display of affection.

To the owner’s amazement, the friendly dog ended up adopting the tiny creature. With their special bond, the lovely couple melted millions of hearts online!

Dotty, a lovely lamb, was rejected by her mother immediately after birth due to her unique appearance. Dotty was born with some strange markings on her fur, which her mother accepted because she was a hybrid of a pure-bred white Dorper ram and a Dorper and Van Rooy ewe.

Fortunately, Dotty finds comfort in someone who looked exactly like her — Zoe, a Dalmatian puppy.

Soon after her mother abandoned her, John Bolton, the farm’s owner, began hand-feeding the lamb, but he was astonished and delighted to learn she had found a new mother in Zoe, a very friendly dog.

“She’s in season right now,” Bolton explained, “and was sort of feeling that mothering instinct at a time when this lamb was there.” “It just seemed natural for her to pick this up and have something to mother,” says the author.

The adorable couple quickly grew in popularity, and footage of them spending time together quickly went viral. In the video below, you can see this unusual duo!
