Braintree missing cat found after owner hears meow on vet’s phone: They are reunited now

Thanks to a happy coincidence, a cat is back with its family after being missing for 8 long months. Her owner had recognized her mewing as she spoke to a veterinarian on the phone.

Lost to sight several months earlier, a cat was found when its mistress recognized its distinctive meow over the phone. A story reported by the BBC on Monday, January 17.

Rachael Lawrence, mother of 3, lives in Braintree in Essex, England. It had been 8 months since she had heard from Barnaby, one of her cats.

She was on the phone with the vet and the conversation was about her other feline friend who needed to be accomplished, when she heard a meow that she would have recognized among thousands of others.

His interlocutor explained to him that it was a stray cat and their discussion ended, but Rachael Lawrence wanted to know for sure.

She then decided to call the veterinary clinic and provided the physical description of Barnaby, referring in particular to his black dress and the white mark present on one of his legs. There, we took his proposals more seriously.

“I knew it was him”

When she sent photos of her cat to the establishment, there was no longer any doubt; it was his Barnaby. “I knew it was him,” says his owner, who recovered at the vet clinic to pick him up. When it was brought to her, she began to cry bitterly.
