2 teams of firefighters mobilize to rescue a dog stuck 5 meters underground: She was treated to comforting hugs from the whole team

Fallen into a hole several meters deep, a dog was saved by firefighters from 2 separate rescue centers. The firefighters joined forces to extract her from the cavity and hand her over to her family.

A dog who was stuck at the bottom of a hole was rescued by Florida firefighters, as reported by WDHN on Thursday February 10.

The rescue took place Wednesday in Paxton, Florida. Warned, the help arrived on the spot around 3 p.m. local time.

South Walton firefighters and their colleagues from Walton County operated together during this particularly delicate intervention.

They were assisted by the animal control service, under the county police. The cavity was 5 meters deep.

The firefighters first assessed the situation, in particular by inquiring about the health of the female Weimaraner and, using a gas detector, the quality of the air around her.

They then placed a ladder there to allow one of them, secured by ropes, to descend.

The rescuers improvised a harness for the animal, made from elements of nets, then the dog, described as “very friendly” was brought to the surface.

She was treated to comforting hugs from the whole team, before joining her relieved owners.

According to the South Walton Fire District, she suffered no injuries.
